About Dear Mr. Postman

Well, first of all, the postman brings things right to your door, and picks up other things, and delivers them for you. This is handy.  It’s a little bit of a modern day miracle to me.  Right to your door! Even if he is primarily supported by the corporate sponsorship of Netflix.  Still cool.  And I do like Netflix, so.  That’s the dear Mr. Postman.

On the other hand, Dear Mr. Postman is a series of open letters– to politicians, celebrities, institutions, your mother, inanimate objects, and anything else that needs talking to.

Google provides the following definitions of open letters:

  • A letter of protest; addressed to one person but intended for the general public. (Princeton Wordnet)
  • An open letter is a letter that is intended to be read by a wide audience, or a letter intended for an individual, but that is nonetheless widely distributed intentionally. (Wikipedia: Open Letter)
  • Open Letter is the third album from R&B singer Case. It features “Missing You”, which was his only number one hit to date. (Wikipedia: Case album)

I just found your blog-such a great concept. I recently wrote an open letter on my own blog and thought your might appreciate it:
