Dear Clapping in Movie Theaters,
NO. STOP IT.
Unless someone involved in the making of the film is present (and the guy who served you popcorn does not count, I do not care how much that “made” your movie-watching experience (and yes, popcorn does a movie-watching experience make, I’m with you, let’s be friends)), NO CLAPPING.
Thanks, I appreciate your cooperation,
MM

margaret. while i can understand your complaint, because it is true, nobody that helped make the movie can hear you through the screen, i can understand why people clap. in fact, you will find me frequently clapping, even at the tv, especially modern family (which if you don’t watch you have to, especially if you like 30 rock) because of an overwhelming sense of gratitude to the people who put the effort into making my life better. It is a simple act of physical motion to express our joy! jumping up and down works too.
nope. can’t convince me. i hate it. it’s a visceral thing. i cringe and get tense and then grow fangs (or something like that). it’s like cats and hoses.
you do whatever you want in the privacy of your own home. i can’t hear/see that so i don’t care.
